Lauren Frey

I am a clinical social worker (LMSW-C) offering a combination of individual, group, and community focused services.

My clinical approach is integrative and grounded in Interpersonal Neurobiology (IPNB), drawing from current neuroscience, attachment theory, developmental psychology, and play-based interventions. Therapy sessions often incorporate play, art, sensory experiences, and other creative modalities tailored to each child's developmental stage, interests, and needs. I work closely with parents and, when appropriate, collaborate with teachers, healthcare providers, and community agencies to support coordinated care and advocacy.

Beyond individual therapy, I am passionate about building community and expanding access to meaningful support for children and families. Shora House was created from a desire to move beyond the limitations of traditional medical-model approaches and toward therapeutic learning environments that support children and families grow into their fullest selves—not simply fit the expectations of larger systems.

Outside of my professional work, I love spending time with my family, learning something new, collecting and polishing rocks, climbing bigger rocks, practicing Spanish, and finding opportunities for play and connection. As a queer and neurodivergent therapist, I value both my lived experience and professional knowledge, and I appreciate the many different ways people think, learn, communicate, and move through the world. My own experiences contribute to my commitment to creating spaces where children and families can better understand themselves and build on their strengths. I am endlessly curious and love exploring science, language, and just about anything that helps me better understand people and the world around us.
